Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President



First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Pays Tribute to Former President  Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as a leader of integrity, courage, and deep national devotion. In a condolence message, she prayed for Allah's mercy and comfort for the bereaved family and the nation.

Mrs. Tinubu eulogized the former President, stressing that he served Nigeria with unwavering commitment, integrity, and a deep love for his people. "Our nation has lost a great leader who dedicated his life to the service of our beloved country," she said. "President Buhari led with integrity, courage, and a clear sense of purpose".


*Condolences to the Family*


The First Lady extended her deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Buhari's widow, Hajia Aisha Buhari, and the entire family. "May you find solace in the outpouring of love and support from a grateful nation. Please know that we all share your grief," she added.


Prayer for Divine Mercy


Mrs. Tinubu concluded with a prayer for divine mercy, saying, "May Almighty Allah grant former President Muhammadu Buhari Al-janah Firdaus and comfort his wife, family, and all Nigerians".


*National Mourning*


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his predecessor, describing Buhari's death as a national moment of grief. The President has directed all national flags to be flown at half-staff as a mark of respect and has ordered Vice President Kashim Shettima to proceed to the United Kingdom to accompany President Muhammadu Buhari's body back to Nigeria.


*Funeral Arrangements*


The former President's body is expected to arrive in Katsina today, July 15, with President Tinubu and 25 ministers set to receive the remains. The nation will bid farewell to one of its most prominent post-independence leaders in the coming days.²
