Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has been awarded a special recognition by the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) for his remarkable strides in youth empowerment and development. The honour was presented during a recent PGF gathering, where member states commended the Kaduna State governor’s commitment to building sustainable opportunities for young Nigerians.
The award highlights Governor Sani’s growing reputation as one of the most proactive leaders in addressing the challenges faced by the youth population. Under his administration, Kaduna State has witnessed the launch of several youth-focused initiatives aimed at tackling unemployment, enhancing skills development, and promoting entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum praised Governor Sani’s administration for “prioritizing youth inclusion in governance, digital innovation, and vocational training.” He added that Kaduna’s model is now being studied by other states for possible replication.
Governor Sani, in his response, dedicated the award to the resilient youth of Kaduna State. “This recognition is not just for me but for every young person in Kaduna working hard to build a better future. We are investing in them because we believe they are the cornerstone of our development,” he said.
Among the initiatives credited to his administration are the Kaduna Digital Entrepreneurship Program, vocational training centres across local government areas, and scholarship schemes that have benefited thousands of students in higher institutions.
Additionally, the state’s partnership with both local and international organizations has opened doors for young people in areas such as tech innovation, agribusiness, and creative arts. These programs have not only reduced youth restiveness but have also improved self-reliance and job creation across the state.
Political analysts and civil society groups have hailed the recognition as well-deserved, noting that Governor Sani’s governance style is rooted in inclusiveness and impact-driven policies. Youth leaders in Kaduna have also taken to social media to express pride in the governor’s achievement.
With this award, the Progressive Governors Forum has reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging member states to adopt youth-centric policies that foster innovation, reduce poverty, and build a new generation of leaders.
Governor Sani reiterated his resolve to continue expanding youth empowerment programs, promising that more developmental projects are underway to ensure that young people in Kaduna and beyond have the tools they need to succeed.
